Steve Hull, Rosemary and Arthur Hall trained at the Special Dan Course held at Chesterfield on 19th April. The dojo was full of black belts from all over the country, ranging from 1st dan at one end of the hall, to 7th dan at the other!
Sensei Sherry 8th dan instructed the 2 hour class which concentrated on the grading syllabus for higher dan grades. The basics, special combinations and compulsory katas were analysed in minute detail. Thereafter the tempo of the session was raised with kaishi jiue ippon kumite, reaction sparring, to conclude a stimulating class.
The session was ideal for Steve, Arthur and Rosemary. They all have plans to grade in the near future and are rightly seizing opportunities to train whenever they can. Attending sessions like these raise standards exponentially and make a big difference.
