The club’s men’s kumite team were in tremendous form at this year’s Central Region Championship seizing the title from Cambridge University ‘A’!
The three man team of Stefan Pacel, Ian Kelly and Teddie Henderson faced the reigning champions in a final of epic proportions! In the first fight Stefan unleashed a show-stopping kick which completely pole-axed his opponent securing an outright win by ippon! Ian and Teddie fought skilfully and with courage and by the end of play the score was: South Notts 1 win, Cambridge 1 win, and 1 draw. So honours even? Not a bit of it! Because our win had been an outright win by ippon we took the title!
