Regional Training

All Grades Courses

All-grades training sessions are held at various locations in the region and are delivered by the club’s grading examiner and KUGB England squad coach Sensei Frank Brennan 8th dan. Training is for all grades and ages and usually takes place between 11.00am and 12.30pm.

Regional Kata Squad

Open to all brown and black belts (min 13yrs) keen to improve their kata standard, this annual series of eight sessions is delivered by Sensei Frank Brennan 8th dan who is a former World Kata Champion. A compulsory selection process takes place at the start of the year and those who demonstrate a reasonable level of competence, together with a commitment to attend all the sessions throughout the year, have a realistic prospect of being selected. Training usually takes place between 1.30pm and 3.30pm.

Kumite Development

Aimed at green belts and above (min age 10 years) keen to improve their kumite skills these developmental sessions are delivered by former British Kumite Champion Sensei Greg Hegarty 6th dan
