Open to all brown and black belts (min 13yrs) keen to improve their kata standard, this annual series of eight sessions is delivered by the chairman of the KUGB Sensei Frank Brennan 8th dan who is a former World Kata Champion. A compulsory selection process takes place at the start of the year usually involving the performance of a Heian kata in a small group. Those who demonstrate a reasonable level of competence, together with a commitment to attend all the sessions throughout the year, have a realistic prospect of being selected.
